My name is Hywel John, welcome to my portfolio.
I write everything (pretty much).
But I specialise in:
- Scripts: for theatre, film & TV, advertising , chatbots, and all other in-house content (I'll dream up creative pitches too if you'd like).
- Creative copy for branding and advertising, with a black-belt in brand naming. I have worked with clients as diverse as HUGE, Google, William Grant Whisky and Walmart.

My plays have been professionally staged all around the world: in Wales, Edinburgh, Finland, Denmark, New York City and London. I'm published by Oberon Books, Nick Hern Books and Dramatists Play Service
(which, incidentally, means I'm an excellent Speechwriter too, for any event, personal or corporate - weddings, conferences, you name it)

Oh and I also dabble in Journalism and Lyrics for songs, because why not?

Like all writers, I love words, but unlike others, I have a unique approach to working with clients: I bring my talents in wordplay, dialogue and character to the specific needs of every client, but tuning into what is specific about their voice - what it is they want to say, how they want to say it, and why they need to say it right now. My aim is always alchemy, to create a new language together that is perfectly crafted to match the individual vision and mission of every client.

And finally... I can legally work in USA, Europe and the UK, and you might find me in all of those places tapping away on my keyboard. I love the freedom remote work brings me, but I can be on location for a client too if needed.
